Eight Week Training Syllabus for After School Enrichment Program with Coeur du Petit Lion
- Week One: The parts of the sword, the grip, first position, the salute, the on-guard position.
- Week Two: Review Week One add the fencing advance and retreat.
- Week Three: The mask is introduced. Review Weeks One and Two and add aiming and hitting techniques individually and in twos.
- Week Four: Review aiming and hitting and add the lunge and the advance and lunge techniques of fencing.
- Week Five: Review hitting and lunging with partners and add parry six.
- Week Six: Review the parry six and add the parry four. Allow for the choice of a parry four or a parry six with and without a pattern on a partner. Note the differences.
- Week Seven: Review the parry six and four and add a lunge with an aim and hit.
- Week Eight: Review the parry six and four with a lunge aim and hit and add the blade tapping technique and then a first parry repost.
